Family Isolation -- Accusation and Response
The accusation that the Heralds of the Gospel systematically isolated members from their families is contradicted by the existence of AMPARE (parents' association), the petition of 2,583 parents defending the institution, and the 1,824 individual interviews during the Apostolic Visitation in which members expressed satisfaction. The Sao Paulo Court of Justice ruled that the relationship between parents/students and the Heralds is of a "private and contractual" nature. All civil proceedings on this matter were dismissed or resolved favorably for the Heralds.
